I first experienced Reiki in 1999 when I was pregnant with my first child. Unfortunately my pregnancy was less than enjoyable and I struggled daily with severe morning sickness (which for me lasted all day), pain throughout my entire body and complete exhaustion. I was so depressed, miserable, and desperate to find some relief. I had no energy or will to go anywhere so a good friend came to check in on me one day. Seeing my fragile and vulnerable state she suggested I meet with a Reiki Master she met with a week earlier. She went on to explain the incredible experience she had after only one session. At the time Reiki was not as well known as it is today so I had never heard of it. “What do you have to lose” she questioned. I had been hospitalized several times, had taken every modern medicine known to help my symptoms and tried every suggestion and advice my friends and family members had. Everyone seemed to have a foolproof remedy handed down from generations to help with pregnancy sickness, but nothing helped. Skeptical but hopeful I called the Reiki Master she agreed to see me right away..probably because she heard the desperation in my voice. I arrived at her home and was greeted by a kind sweet woman who gently guided me to a seated position on a mat. I didn’t even have the strength to get on her Reiki table. What happened next could only be experienced to understand. I felt an unexplainable warmth, energy and calmness. When the session was over I was so relaxed and peaceful however, the effects that evening and the next day were profound. I had less fatigue, was able to eat for the first time in weeks and enjoyed a full nights’ sleep. I couldn’t believe it this incredible woman had helped me in a way modern medicine could not. It would be a few decades before I would experience it again.

I knew however, one day this incredible gift of Reiki would be in my life. 
After several years in the corporate world and being stressed out, exhausted and depressed I was reintroduced to Reiki. It was then I decided I need to study it master it and share it with others. My journey thus far has been so rewarding and enlightening.  The feedback and gratitude I receive from those who have benefited from a Reiki session has been so fulfilling and encouraging and leads me to believe I have taken the right path.
